ChessOne

ChessOne is a “free” Java interface for playing chess on the Free Internet Chess Server bka FICS. This started it about January 1999 in Visual C++ but now is a Java program which can run on most platforms and operating systems.

ChessOne comes currently in 2 flavors. The applet which runs from your web browser, and the application which you download to your computer, and run like a normal program.

ChessOne has just been released under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) 11/2/02. The source can be found on the download page.

ChessBordBean

ChessBoardBean is a JavaBean of a Swing JConponent.  It is the chess board used by ChessOne in editions Beta3 and later See the screen shots of ChessOne for a view of the bean in action.  It can be used to display board positions in web pages, or to create a complete chess game for your own purposes. It allows moving of chess pieces, chess piece selection, and complete control over the board both programatically and by using the mouse. It is free for your usage.
